Omaha National Cemetery
Wilbert Cemetery Construction has initiated the first phase of this project, with the start of installation of 2,500 double depth lawn crypts, for the immense Omaha National Cemetery Project in Omaha, Nebraska. Overseeing the project is Chris Carson, Vice President and Brent Monk, Senior Project Manager. The lawn crypts will be manufactured in Grandview, Missouri and Parsons, Kansas.
This new 236 acre cemetery in the State of Nebraska will serve the burial needs of more than 112,000 Veterans. The cemetery will have in-ground burial space to accommodate casketed and cremated remains.
Burial in a national cemetery is open to members of the armed forces who have met the minimum active duty service requirement and eligibility. A Veteran’s spouse, widow or widower, minor children and qualifying unmarried children with disabilities may also be eligible for burial.
The Omaha National Cemetery is expected to start its first interments in the fall of 2016 with completion of the project.
