Urn Vault Installation at Omaha National Veterans Cemetery
Wilbert Cemetery Construction has completed the installation of 2500 double depth lawn crypts in the Omaha National Veterans Cemetery. The next phase has begun with the installation of the 1200 urn vaults. Brent Monk, Senior Project Manager, will be working closely with the Veterans Affairs Department on the installation of the urn vaults, which is a relatively new product being installed in National Veterans Cemeteries across the country.
The urn vaults are manufactured in Parsons, Kansas and the 300 urn gangs will be transported to Omaha, NE. The units are manufactured with headstone containment boxes and four vaults each. One unit is called a gang, which contains four separate vaults to hold four urns. Upon completion of the installation of 300 urn gangs, the Omaha National Veterans Cemetery will be able to hold 1200 urns in this section of the facility.
