North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery
Wilbert Cemetery Construction is on site with the installation of 907 double depth lawn crypts and 13 oversize lawn crypts, for the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael, Mississippi. Columbarium units are also in the plans to be installed by Wilbert Cemetery Construction. Overseeing the project, on site, is Cris Wilson, Superintendent. The lawn crypts for this project will be manufactured and shipped by sister company Shreveport Wilbert, Shreveport, Louisiana.
Montgomery County of Mississippi donated the 50 acre parcel of land along Highway 82 and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded Mississippi a $6.6 million grant program for the construction of the cemetery. The site will provide service to more than 22,000 veterans and their spouses in North Mississippi. The project goal is to provide burial options to veterans within 75 miles of their homes. Mississippi’s state veterans cemeteries will provide interment, at no charge, to eligible U.S. Veterans and their spouses
The North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery is projecting completion of the memorial park in the spring of 2017.
